Chylothorax Management Four Years Post Spine Surgery: A Successful Conservative Treatment

Background: Chylothorax is a pathological condition associated with high mortality and morbidity rate. The first observation of chylothorax thoracic vertebral injury was documented by Krabbell in 1885. Since then, several cases have been described the literature.
 Non traumatic years after spine surgery rare condition. We case patient who sustained fracture-dislocation presented right sided as late complication to his trauma. A thoracentesis performed, providing partial relief respiratory symptoms. collected fluid sent laboratory for further examination. Biochemical analysis milky pleural confirmed suspicion chylothorax, elevated levels triglycerides lymphocytes. These findings supported diagnosis chylothorax.
 Conclusion: Non-traumatic occurring condition, there limited literature available on this particular pathology. can be simplified through examination fluid. Conservative treatment typically approach choice majority cases, involving total parenteral nutrition insertion chest tube into cavity, followed chemical pleurodesis.
